Ozil Goal AI Generator
The Ozil goal AI trend recasts Mesut Özil's famous 2016 Champions League winner for Arsenal against Ludogorets: he chips the keeper, waits as two defenders slide past, then rolls the ball into an empty net. Background
The goal behind the Ozil AI trend
On November 1, 2016, Arsenal were drawing 2–2 in Sofia after coming back from two goals down. In the 87th minute Özil ran onto a long ball, lifted it over the onrushing Ludogorets keeper, then stopped on the six-yard line while two defenders slid past him before rolling it in.
Nearly ten years later, a pitch-side recording of the goal resurfaced on TikTok and passed 2 million views. In October 2026 AI editors started replacing Özil in that clip, first with a Minecraft villager and an AI grandma, then with Woody, Shrek, Uncle Phil, SpongeBob, Walter White and people's own pets, usually set to a remix of “Clandestina”.

FAQ
Ozil Goal AI FAQ
What is the Ozil goal AI trend?
+
It's a TikTok and Reels trend from October 2026. People use AI to replace Mesut Özil in the pitch-side clip of his 2016 goal against Ludogorets, so a grandma, a Minecraft villager, a pet or they themselves chip the keeper and wait for the defenders to slide past.
Which goal is it?
+
Özil's 87th-minute winner for Arsenal at Ludogorets in the Champions League group stage on November 1, 2016. Arsenal came back from 2–0 down to win 3–2. Özil lifted the ball over goalkeeper Milan Borjan, let two defenders slide past him, and rolled it into the empty net.
How do I make an Ozil goal AI video?
+
Upload one photo on this page and hit Generate. We use the trend's reference clip and swap your photo in as the scorer, so there's no prompt to write, no reference video to find and nothing to edit. The reference clip's audio is already on the result.
What AI do people use to make the Ozil goal video?
+
Most versions are made with video-editing models that keep a reference clip's motion and camera and replace one person in it. MakeMeme uses ByteDance's Seedance 2.5 in edit mode with the 15-second pitch-side clip as the reference video, in vertical 9:16 at 480p, 720p or 1080p.
Can I put my dog, cat or a cartoon in the Ozil goal?
+
Yes. The replacement keeps your subject's own body, so a dog runs the same line on four legs and a toy keeps its proportions. Use a clear, full-body photo. For characters, use one you made or own; we don't make videos of real public figures.
What song is used in the Ozil goal trend?
+
Most posts use a remix of Emma Peters' “Clandestina”, according to Rivista Undici. Your video keeps the reference clip's audio. To land on the trend's sound page instead, mute it in TikTok or Instagram and add the sound from an Ozil goal post you like.
Is the Ozil goal AI video free?
+
Each video costs 70 credits at 480p, 150 at 720p or 360 at 1080p, and failed videos are refunded automatically. Most videos are ready in a few minutes, and we email you when yours is done.
What resolution is the Ozil Goal AI video, and how many credits does it cost?
+
You choose before you generate: 70 credits at 480p, 150 at 720p or 360 at 1080p. Every resolution gives the same 15-second vertical 9:16 video; higher resolutions are sharper. Failed videos are refunded automatically.
Only upload photos of yourself or of people who have agreed to be in your video. Photos of public figures are rejected. MakeMeme isn't affiliated with Mesut Özil, Arsenal, Ludogorets or UEFA.
